I came across a spinach bread recipe while surfing the net looking for new recipes.So I decided to give it a try.The recipe was very easy to follow and the result was awesome.Adding spinach to bread made it more healthy.Substituting all purpose flour with wheat will be more healthier.

Ingredients

  1. For the bread
  2. 2 cupsflour
  3. 1/4 cupmargarine
  4. 1egg
  5. 2 tbspsugar
  6. 1/2 tspsalt
  7. 1 tspactive yeast
  8. 1/4 cupmilk
  9. Water
  10. 1 cupspinach chopped spinach
  11. Sesame seeds for sprinkling on the bread
  12. For the filling
  13. 1red bell pepper chopped
  14. Onion chopped
  15. 1/4 tspcurry
  16. 1/2 cubeMaggie
  17. 1 tspvegetable oil

Cooking Instructions

    Measure all ingredients In a bowl of a standing mixer fitted with dough hook.Gradually add water and beat for 5 minutes.

    Transfer onto a floured surface and knead for 10 to 15 minutes untill it becomes soft and strechy just like in the second picture below.

    Transfer the dough into a bowl,brush with oil,cover with a damp towel and allow to rise untill it doubles in size for 1 to 2 hours in a warm place.

    Meanwhile heat a pan,add oil and stir fry spinach,bell pepper and onions,add curry,maggi and turn off the heat.

    After rising, defliate the dough by gently pressing down with your hands to remove air bubbles.

    Roll out into a rectangle shape using your pan as a guide or tape to measure the size of of your bread pan multiply by 3.

    Spoon the filling on the flaten douģh and roll over from the longest side of the dough to form a log shape.Pinch the edges to seal the dough.

    Transfer the roll into a greased bread pan with the seam placed down.Cover and allow to rise for 1 hour untill it doubles in size just like in picture 3 below.

    After the second rise,brush the roll with egg wash.Sprinkle with sesame seed.

    Pop your pan in a pre heated oven and bake for 30 minutes or depending on the temperature of your oven.The roll should have a hollow sound when gently hit with your finger when done.You can insert a skewer into the loaf,when it comes out clean,it shows the bread is done.

    Bring out from the oven,allow to cool and slice
