Ingredients

  1. 11/2 cupFlour
  2. 1tblspn Baking powder
  3. 1Egg
  4. 4tblspn Yogurt (fresh cow milk)
  5. 20 gmelted Butter
  6. pinchSalt
  7. Water
  8. Pinchsugar(optional)
  9. PinchCurry power (optional)
  10. For the filling
  11. Meat(to your like I.e chicken or beef)
  12. 3big Potatoes
  13. 1big Onions
  14. 3Scotch bonnet
  15. Oil
  16. 3Seasoning
  17. Curry leaves and curry powder
  18. Garlic
  19. Ginger powder
  20. White and black pepper
  21. Mixed spice

Cooking Instructions

    Mix the flour with the dry ingredients first I.e (baking powder, salt, Pinch of sugar, pinch of Curry). Add the butter next and make sure it's mix properly before adding the rest of the ingredients (egg, yogurt) to make a perfect soft dough

    Cover the dough and set aside

    For the filling peel, wash and cut the potatoes into cube or desired shape(you can also used mashed potatoes) then cook till soft. Wash the meat and cut into cube shape too, add seasoning, garlic, and all other meat spices and cook(you can use mince meat of desired choice)

    Dice the onions and fresh garlic
    On a hot pan put oil till hot then add onions, scotch and all the mention spices stire for a minute then add the cook patotoes and meat and continue stiring. Add seasoning and little bit of *ruwan nama* and continue stiring till everything set together

    Cut your dough into lemon size and roll it into an oval shape. Place your prepared filling on one side of the rolled dough. Bring the other side to close the fillings, Using a fork close the end of the two side making it half oval shape. Repeat the same procedure to the rest of the cut dough

    Egg wash the meat pies and put In a 200° oven for 10mins or simply deep fry dem on a low heat. When frying make sure to turn each side to allow the yogurt to cook properly.
