Ingredients

  1. 1 cupurad dhuli dal
  2. Pinchhing/ asafoetida
  3. to tasteSalt
  4. as neededOil for frying
  5. 1chopped green chilli
  6. 1 inch chopped ginger
  7. 2 Cupthick yogurt
  8. 1/2 Cupmilk
  9. 1 tspblack salt
  10. 1 tspsugar
  11. 1 tspred chilli powder 1 tsp Chaat masala powder
  12. as neededsweet tamarind chutney
  13. As neededGreen chutney
  14. 1 Tbspboondi
  15. 1 tbspnamkeen sev
  16. as neededChopped coriander leaves

Cooking Instructions

    Soak the dal for 3-4 hours

  2. 2

    Drain extra water and add ginger, green chilli and grind to a batter.

    Add salt and zeera to the batter and mix vigorously

  4. 4

    Heat oil for frying in a kadhai or alternatively make bhalla a in an appe pan using very little oil.

    Fry till crispy then take them out on an absorbent paper

  6. 6

    Put them in hot water with a pinch of heeng. Keep them soaked for 15-20 minutes

    Beat the yogurt and add milk and sugar

  8. 8

    Gently sqeeze water from the bhalle and place them in half the beaten yogurt mixture.

    For assembling

    Put vadas in the bowl.

    Add curd green chutney and sweet chutney.

    Add salt black salt red chilli powder chaat masala powder and roasted jeera powder.

  12. 12

    Garnish Dahi Bhalla with boondi sev and coriander leaves and serve immediately.
