Ingredients

  1. For the Dough
  2. 5 cupsflour
  3. 2 tbssugar
  4. 1 tspsalt
  5. 1 tbspbaking powder
  6. 1 cupButter
  7. 3Eggs
  8. Ice Water
  9. For the Filling
  10. 1/2kilo of mince meat
  11. 3 cupsdiced potatoes
  12. 1 cupdiced carrot
  13. 1 cupchopped onion
  14. Seasoning
  15. 1 tspginger and black pepper
  16. 2 tbsoil
  17. 3crushed scotch bonnet
  18. 2 tbscorn flour
  19. 1 tspgarlic paste

Cooking Instructions

    Cook the mince meat with onion and seasoning

  2. 2

    Add oil, chopped onions and garlic stir cook for 5minutes

  3. 3

    Add scotch bonnet, black pepper and ginger. Mix well

  4. 4

    Then add potatoes and carrot mix well, add 2 cups of water and cover. Cook for 10minutes

    In a small bowl add 2 tbs of corn flour pour some water to make a paste

  6. 6

    Pour into the Filling and cover to cook for another 5 minutes

  7. 7

    Allow it to cool completely

    For the dough, add all the ingredients mix well

  9. 9

    Do not over mix

    Cut the dough into smaller sizes

    Take one small size of dough roll it to flatten with rolling pin

  12. 12

    Put the dough on a dumpling mould

  13. 13

    Put the mince meat filling, use a pastry brush to brush the edges with egg and seal close

  14. 14

    Repeat process until you use up the dough

  15. 15

    Place the pie on the baking pan and brush the top part with egg

  16. 16

    Bake in preheated oven for 20minutes or till it's done
