Cooking Instructions

First step soaking: Mix and wash raw rice and idle rice with water in a bowl once.Soak with enough water covered for 2.5 hours minimum.

Batter: Using a blender add the rice and 1/2tsp salt with very less amount of water as possible a thick smooth paste and transfer the into a bowl.

Heat up a pan in low flame.Add in coconut and jaggery with 1/4 cup of water.Mix well and cook on low flame stirring continuously until get a soft dough.And add in pinch of salt,ghee and cardamom powder.mix well and switch off the flame.Let it cool down completely.

Take a turmeric leaf and a small portion from dough and spread it on leaf. Place stuffing in the middle and fold into half.

Boil some water in idly steamer.Place the patolis in it.Cover and cook for 20 mins.

When the leaves changes it's colour and dough doesn't stick to your hands switch off the flame and serve patolis with ghee.
