This is a very easy & versatile recipe that I've tweaked through the years. You can add whatever ingredients you like best & it will still taste good.

Ingredients

  1. 6-8potatoes washed, with skin & sliced in rounds
  2. 1/2yellow onion sliced thin
  3. 1/2 stickbutter (cold) cut into small pieces
  4. 1/3 cupgrated parm cheese
  5. 1/4 cupcondensed cheddar cheese soup
  6. 1heaping tablespoon of sour cream
  7. hot water (about 1.5 cups)
  8. to tastesalt & pepper

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.

  2. 2

    Layer potatoes, salt/pepper, butter, parm & onions in baking dish. Sprinkle with a little dried parsley.

  3. 3

    Mix together soup, sour cream & hot water. Pour over potatoes.

  4. 4

    Cover with foil & bake for 1 hour & 15 minutes. Uncover & bake for 15 more minutes.

I like your recipe.. it's not far off from au gratin.. but I used cream of celery soup and added fresh grated cheddar on top..homey.. comforting
