Nigiri Sushi At Home

I wanted to eat some nigiri sushi! I made this at my family's request. If you use an empty egg carton as a "mold" for your rice, it's surprisingly simple to make everything the same size!
Please thoroughly wash the egg carton before use. You should use enough sushi rice to fill up to the top of the bottom layer of the carton. I think that's the ideal amount. Two rice cooker cups will make about 25 pieces, but you can make them bigger or smaller if you like. Please use any toppings you like. Recipe by shoken mama

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Rinse the rice and place in a sieve. When making the rice, use a little less water than you usually do. Once cooked, mix together with the sushi vinegar and let cool.
- 2
This is a pack of store-bought sashimi.
- 3
Wet the egg carton and put a little more than 1 tablespoon of sushi rice into each of the egg molds and shake it up a bit to shape the rice.
- 4
Make 26 small riice balls. Adjust the shapes into ovals.
- 5
Top the rice from Step 4 with wasabi, then place on the seafood toppings. Press the topping onto the sushi without being too firm or too gentle.
- 6
Transfer to a plate and enjoy!

Nigiri Sushi Nigiri Sushi
I'd been interested in nigiri sushi from quite some time, but I hadn't been able to make anything besides temaki sushi (hand-rolled sushi). But with time and lots of help from various TV programs and magazines, I was able to improve my skills. Here are some of my suggestions to guide you on how to make some fun nigiri sushi to entertain your guests.Try to look at some videos to study how real sushi chefs move and use their hands. Slightly pressing down on the rice in the center will let your sushi stand better on its own. In Step 4, if you align the top of the sushi just under your left thumb and on the base of your left forefinger, you'll be able to give your sushi prettily tapered ends. Refer to the video for hints.Don't press the rice too hard. Just form it lightly and softly. Don't moisten your hands with too much vinegar-water, or the rice will get wet and may fall apart. Wipe your hands with a moistened kitchen towel occasionally. This makes it harder for sushi rice to stick to them. Homemade sushi is delicious! Recipe by Cooking S Papa cookpad.japan -
