Easy Sweet-Salty Teriyaki Simmered Chicken Wings and Daikon Radish Easy Sweet-Salty Teriyaki Simmered Chicken Wings and Daikon Radish
The daikon radish in this simmered dish is so tender you don't have to chew it at all .They don't fall apart a bit even though the sharp edges aren't cut off. The ingredients are cooked in a large pan in a single layer, with the components overlapping as little as possible. And you don't stir it and fiddle with it while it's simmering. The key is to cook everything in the bubbles. You don't want to taste or smell the garlic at all. It's not added for that really. It's added for richness, and to counteract the gaminess of the chicken. Whenever you think that a dish needs more richness, try adding a tiny bit of garlic. It will add that richness you want. Only add a tiny bit, not enough to taste the garlic. Recipe by pegupepepe cookpad.japan -

Sweet and Spicy Braised Pork Belly with Daikon Radish Sweet and Spicy Braised Pork Belly with Daikon Radish
Braised pork belly and daikon radish has been always one of the side dishes I make, but I added some changes to the recipe a friend's mum showed me. I made it more substantial using my usual ingredients. The daikon absorbs the flavour as it is cooled down. It tastes better when left to stand for a while than eaten straight away. It is nice if you cook boiled eggs together with it. If you heat the daikon for 2 to 3 minutes in a microwave beforehand you can cook the dish quickly. Recipe by Nokosandon cookpad.japan -

Chicken breast and new harvest spring cabbage were both on sale, so I bought a ton!! I stir-fried them in a sweet-salty miso sauce to go well with rice.Season the chicken breast as described to prevent it from getting dry and stringy. I used 4 tablespoons of sake and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce this time, but adjust the amounts to the amount of chicken you are using!!!I think this should be delicious with new harvest sweet onion added to the spring cabbage. Sweet & Salty Yellowtail with Daikon Radish Sweet & Salty Yellowtail with Daikon Radish
I made this because yellowtail offcuts are cheap but delicious. When using a regular pot, microwave the daikon to skip the parboiling. The vinegar helps bring out the flavor and also soften the ingredients. The flavor permeates the dish and is delicious, so if you have any leftovers, make sure to save it with the liquid.
