Korean yangnyeom chicken made with homemade sauce - 양념치킨🇰🇷

Korean yangnyom chicken is one of the most popular foods which we've seen in lots of Korean dramas. When I went to Seoul last time, I found chicken shops everywhere. There are about 36,000 fried chicken restaurants in South Korea(data as of 2016). This is more than the number of McDonald's stores worldwide!!😱💦
According to my husband, who is from Korea, yangnyeom chicken is usually not a home-cooked food and people mostly buy or order from outside. However, in overseas, we cannot always find Korean chicken shops. Also, I believe that the homemade one can be a bit more healthier than the one from outside. Therefore, I searched for over 10 recipes from several sources both in Korean and Japanese and made my own original sauce🙌 My husband loved it so it must be close to the authentic one!
In Korea, pickled radishes always come together with yangnyeom chicken. I have uploaded the recipe too, so please cook together!!❤️

Cara Memasak
- 1
Cut breast chicken in bite pieces and sprinkle salt, black pepper and grated ginger. Leave it for over 15 mins while preparing for the sauce.
- 2
Mix all ingredients for the yangnyeom sauce in a bowl. Please take a tiny taste and adjust to your favorite taste. If you do not like spicy so much, please reduce the amount of Gochujang and increase the amount of strawberry jam.
- 3
In a tray, mix the corn starch and flour. Coat the chicken with the flour mixture.
- 4
Add the oil to a deep pot or pan(1-2 cm height). Heat the oil to 180℃. Using chopsticks, drop the chicken in the oil, one piece at a time. Cook until golden brown. Remove them with a wire skimmer or a slotted spoon. Drain on a wire rack or in a large mesh strainer set on a bowl.
- 5
Crush the nuts.
- 6
Prepare Korean lettuce on a plate.
- 7
Once the fried chicken is fried, remove from the pan. Clean up the oil in the pan, bring back the chicken and cook under a medium heat for few minutes(This will make the chicken more crispy). Add yangnyeom sauce and stir well until the chicken are evenly coated.

Serve on the plate and sprinkle the crashed nuts. Enjoy with pickled radishes(Please check out my pickled radishes recipe!!).

Hainan chicken rice cooked in Staub pot 🐓 "So shiok!" 😋🇸🇬 Hainan chicken rice cooked in Staub pot 🐓 "So shiok!" 😋🇸🇬
Having lived in Singapore for around 10 years, Hainan chicken rice is one of my most favorite dishes of all! ❤️I’m always missing the taste in local hawker center, especially Tian Tian in Maxwell food court. My recipe is still very far from that authentic professional level, but I’m confident that this is delicious enough to enjoy at home😁 And it’s so easy too!(You don’t need to prepare a whole chicken or boil it for few hours)Instead of using a Staub pot, you can use a rice cooker to cook chicken and rice too!As for the sauce, please try dark soy sauce if you can buy it as it usually comes together with chicken rice in Singapore. Since it’s not widely available in Japan, this time I made an original sauce(which is also tasty though!).😉*Shiok means delicious in Singlish. Kanaaneko -

Japanese soft and juicy teriyaki chicken 🇯🇵 Japanese soft and juicy teriyaki chicken 🇯🇵
To make the chicken soft and juicy, I’m adding some sugar when seasoning the chicken. Because sugar works as a natural tenderizer! I learned this tip from Cookpad Japan author.😊This recipe is quick and easy. Basically, fry chicken and add teriyaki sauce in the last step! It’s my family’s favorite and hope you and your family will enjoy too! Looking forward to your cooksnaps ❤️❤️#cppassport Kanaaneko -

Salmon Meuniere in 15mins (Japanese style) Salmon Meuniere in 15mins (Japanese style)
Meunière is a word originally coming from France which means “to prepare something(for example fish) by dredging it in flour, pan fried in butter and served with the butter sauce”.Although it’s a French style of cooking, most Japanese students learn how to cook this “Salmon Meunière” in school during home economics cooking class. So did I.As for Japanese version, the key is to use butter and “soy sauce” for the finishing sauce. It’s so delicious and easy so hoping that you will also try this Japanese all time favorite fish dish! Kanaaneko -
Roast chicken🐓 Christmas dinner 2022🎄✨ Roast chicken🐓 Christmas dinner 2022🎄✨
Just mix all the ingredients for the sauce, marinate the chicken for 1 hour and roast it in the oven for 20 mins! It looks fancy but it's actually very easy!Just be careful not to burn the chicken because the sauce is easy to get burned due to the soy sauce. Kanaaneko -

Agedashi Tofu - 揚げ出し豆腐 Agedashi Tofu - 揚げ出し豆腐
I remembered the delicious Agedashi Tofu which I had in a Japanese restaurant the other day, so I decided to try making it at home.2 Tips to make it successful:- Removing the excess water from the tofu helps to keep it in shape and also prevents oil splattering.- When frying the tofu, only touch it when turning it over. If you move it too much, the tofu will fall apart. Kanaaneko -

Stir-fry Beef with Spring Onions & Ginger Stir-fry Beef with Spring Onions & Ginger
My husband and I have always love the Soo Kee's Son restaurant in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We can whack a whole large portion of their stir-fry beef with spring onions and ginger. I am still trying to achieve the softness of the beef, other than that, it is flavourful to go with rice. Michelle Kwan -
Chinese style crab meat omelette on rice “Tenshinhan”, cooking for 1 person - 天津飯 Chinese style crab meat omelette on rice “Tenshinhan”, cooking for 1 person - 天津飯
“Tenshinhan” is recognized as Chinese dish in Japan, but it was actually born in Japan, which I didn’t know until just now😂It’s easy but fulfilling and looks good too. As I know that my mother, who is a housewife, often cooks this for lunch when she is alone at home(I know this because she sent me URLs of Cookpad Japan’s “Tenshinhan” recipes or her cooksnaps few times before).Today, as I had to take a dinner by myself, I remembered this dish and tried cooking it. I combined 2 recipes from Cookpad Japan and here I would like to save my version. Kanaaneko
