Dosa with Sambhar, chutney is a full meal. I made this dosa with five dals and rice. It's soft yet very crispy. Chutney is made with chana dal, coriander and tamarind. I have taken masoor dal to make sambhar with necessary tadka.

  1. For Dosa
  2. 1/4 cupmasoor dal
  3. 1/4 cupchana dal
  4. 1/4 cuptoor dal
  5. 1/4 cupurad dal
  6. 1/4 cupyellow moong dal
  7. 2 cupbrown Rice
  8. 2 cuprice powder
  9. 1/4 cupflattened rice (chuda/poha)
  10. 1 tspmethi dana
  11. ForStuffing
  12. 4medium boiled Holland potatoes, mashed
  13. 2 tbspoil
  14. 1/2 tspmustard seeds
  15. 1 tspchana dal
  16. 1 tspurad dal
  17. Fewcurry leaves
  18. 2green chillies
  19. 1/4 tsphing powder
  20. 1medium onion chopped
  21. 2tomatoes chopped
  22. 1/4turmeric powder
  23. as requiredSalt
  24. 1/2 tsppodi masala powder

Cooking Instructions

    Wash dals and brown rice 3/5 times. Soak rice, dals, methi over night or 4 hours in warm water. Soak poha for an hour.

    Mix the soaked ingredients without adding salt and make a fine paste. Add the price powder and mix well. Keep in the oven, overnight to ferment. Add salt, mix well, the dosa batter is ready.

    To make potato stuffings, heat oil in a pot. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.

    Add curry leaves and fry for 30 seconds. Now add both dals, hing chilli and onion. Fry till onions are soft.

    Add chopped tomatoes, salt and turmeric and podi powder.

    When tomatoes are soft and mushy add mashed potatoes and mix well. The stuffing of Dosa is ready now.

    To make Dosa

    Add salt to fermented dosa batter. Heat tawa,grease with oil. Sprinkle some water to bring down temperature.

    Spread dosa batter. Spread oil, around the dosa. Keep the flame low to medium.
