  1. beans
  2. 2 lbdried pinto beans
  3. broth
  4. 1 lbsmoked ham with bone and skin
  5. 2 tbspsazon seasonings
  6. 2 tbspsaffron flowers
  7. 2 tbsppimento peppers
  8. 2 tbspchopped jalapeño peppers
  9. 1 tbspsalt
  10. 1 tspgranulated garlic powder
  11. 1 1/4 tspground cumin
  12. 1 mediumonion, chopped
  13. 2/3 cupmargarine
  14. 3 1/2 quartwater

Cooking Instructions

    Boil the water slice the ham add all the broth ingredients

    Bring back to boil while thats going on check beans for bad ones and stones rinse the beans

  3. 3

    When boiling add beans bring back to boil let boil 10 minutes covered

  4. 4

    Turn down heat let them simmer about 2 and a half hours keep covered till ready to eat hope you enjoy

  5. 5

    Serve with rice and cornbread
