Pinto beans done in a crockpot makes an easy meal. It is good ol' comfort food for a cold day. Add some homemade cornbread to sop up all that goodness.

Ingredients

  1. 2 lbpinto beans
  2. 2 cupham or 2 ham hocks
  3. 2carrots, sliced
  4. 2stalks celery, sliced
  5. 1 largeonion, chopped
  6. 2bay leaves
  7. 1 tspsalt
  8. 1 tspground black pepper
  9. 8 cuphot water

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Go thru the beans and pick out any dirt and bad looking beans. Soak over night in water. Rinse.

    Add all the ingredients to the crockpot.

  3. 3

    Cook on low for eight hours or high for four hours.
