Guacamole

This is guacamole done my way. There are many variations of this recipe. I like it blended because I don't care for chunks of raw onion, but I enjoy the flavor an onion adds. I like jalapenos for flavor and some heat. The "heat" will vary depending on the variety of jalapeno, it's maturity, and how it was grown.

Ingredients

30 mins
12 servings
  1. 3 largeavacados
  2. 4 smalltomatoes (compari style)
  3. 1/2fresh lime
  4. 1 smallbunch of green onions
  5. 1/4 cupFresh cilantro chopped
  6. 1 mediumjalapeno
  7. 1 tspgarlic, minced
  8. 1/2 tspsalt
  9. 1/2 tspGround cumin

Cooking Instructions

30 mins
  1. 1

Peel, seed, and quarter avacados placing them in a blender.

  2. 2

Quarter tomatoes and place in blender.

  3. 3

Peel and quarter lime adding 2 quarters (1/2) to the blender.

  4. 4

Remove stem from jalapeno, remove seeds, and place jalapeno halves in the blender.

  5. 5

Chop cilantro and place 1/4 Cup of it pressed down into the blender.

  6. 6

Cut both ends off of onions, clean, chop, and place in blender.

  7. 7

Add minced garlic, cumin, and salt to blender.

  8. 8

Blend just long enough to blend ingredients together. I use a high powered Ninja system with very sharp blades. I'm not sure this would work as well in a regular blender and if so, you may need to blend longer.

  9. 9

Remove guacamole from blender and place in a bowl. Use wire whip for even consistency.
