There’s something about this combination that makes it so addictive. Once you taste this corn bread with honey whipped butter, you’ll never go back to plain old cornbread again.

Cornbread
This is a recipe from Alex Guarnaschelli that I amend slightly due to my liking. My family would be ashamed of me because this is not exactly southern cornbread, but I like it kind of smooth (less crumbly) and what they don’t know won’t hurt them. The other sinful thing I like, which I would strongly suggest, is putting an obscene amount of buttermilk into this cornbread (more than the recipe calls for) and pulling it out of the oven early so the middle is still raw. It sounds crazy, but try it.

I love cornbread with chili, chicken noodle soup or in a bowl with milk like cereal.

Cornbread
My Mom Babe taught me how to make cornbread. We closely followed the Alber's Cornmeal cornbread recipe adding more sugar, melting Crisco shortening instead of using cooking oil, and adjusting the flour and cornmeal measurements. I use more flour and less cormeal instead of 50/50 so the cornbread does not crumble apart as bad. This is a sweeter cornbread with a cake like texture. So good!

Cornbread (Plain) in da frying pan
I think this one is the winner winner chicken dinner. Presentation and taste. Although I love the honey butter version found here in Cookpad I was not in love with the cornbread recipe. I use Maple Syrup or the butter and honey recipe in cookpad (1/4 butter and 2 tablespoons local honey whipped and blended).

Cornbread Pancakes
I have pancake mix in a box. Only requires water. I opted to make things difficult because it’s a Sunday and I and nothing to do. As I was going along, I thought of some interesting flavor profiles that I thought would work well with this type of pancake.

Super Easy Honey Butter Cornbread
I bought honey butter cornbread from the store once. It was good, but far too expensive. The next time I was craving honey butter cornbread I decided to make it myself. The trick is using real butter. Margarine will work, but it has a much higher water content that could make the cornbread soggy.

Cornbread (Muffins or Bread)
My favorite thing to eat with chili (or any dinner really). I love cornbread! I usually leave out the corn kernels, because of my picky children, but this recipe is delicious either way. Steps include directions and cook times for both bread and Muffin variations. Recipe from Sallysbakingaddiction.com
