Ingredients

  1. 1 Palak/Spinach small bunch - washed
  2. 1medium Onion
  3. 4 tablespoonsBesan /gram flour
  4. 4Green Chillies
  5. 1/2 teaspoonred chilli powder
  6. 1/2 tablespoonCrushed Garlic
  7. 1 cupfresh Methi leaves- finely chopped
  8. 1/2 cupRed carrot grated
  9. 1/2 teaspoonGaram Masala
  10. 2 pinchesMeetha Soda
  11. 1 teaspoonchana dal, soaked in warm water
  12. 1/2 teaspoonginger paste
  13. 1/4th teaspoon Salt or to taste
  14. Oil – To deep fry

Cooking Instructions

    Finely chop onion, chillies, spinach and add salt, methi, garlic, red chilli powder, garam masala, besan and ginger paste in a mixing bowl and mix well.

    Meanwhile in a wok heat oil for deep frying.

  3. 3

    Now add soaked chana dal and soda and mix again to form a smooth batter slightly thicker than pakoda consistency.

    Make small balls of pakora mixture and drop carefully in hot oil 5-6 at a time.

    Deep fry in medium heat for 2 mins only.

  6. 6

    Now take them out and press them lightly with the back of a big ladle or a bowl.

    Now fry again on medium flame until golden brown and crisp turning occasionally

  8. 8

    Crispy and delicious Bhaji Vadas are ready.

    Serve hot with green chutney, imli chutney or sauce.
