Cooking Instructions
- 1
Marinate first the beef in the soy sauce with lemon or calamansi and ground black pepper for at least 1 hour or 2 is much better.
- 2
While marinating prepare and cut all the ingredients (onions and garlic)
- 3
Heat the cooking oil in a pan then stir fry the marinated beef (without the marinade and don't throw the sauce because you will need it later) then when the beef color turns brown put it on the plate and set it aside
- 4
In the same pan where the beef were fried. Stir fry the garlic and onion rings until the texture becomes soft. Set aside also in the plate
- 5
In the same pan, pour the marinade we save last time and bring it to a boil.
- 6
Then put in the fried beef and simmer it for 15 to 20 minutes or until meat is tender.
- 7
When the sauce settle a little, then you can now add the stir-fried onions and add some salt if you want it a little saltier. (but its up to you if you want you beefsteak with lots of sauce)
- 8
Serve it hot with rice and Enjoy!

Pork Chop Bistek Pork Chop Bistek
"Bistek" or "Bistec" is a Filipino/Spanish loan word derived from the English "beef steak" and is generally made with beef sirloin marinated in soy sauce and calamansi/lemon juice. This is one well known variation, which is still called "bistek" despite being made with pork chops. Normally the dish includes red onion rings as garnish but I have omitted them as usual. 🇵🇭🐖 蛟龍Stormwyrm -

Filipino beef curry Filipino beef curry
Filipino curry was one of my favourite dishes growing up. Traditionally the protein is chicken, but I chose to make mine with beef. Specifically, brisket. The long cooking time required by the meat allowed the flavours to deepen, and the potatoes to turn soft and silky. Following family tradition, I used ready-made, generic supermarket curry powder. Feel free to use a blend such as masala. The proportions below may vary depending on the strength of your curry powder. Robert Gonzal -
