Ingredients

20 mins
serves 4 servings
  1. 150 gmssemolina roasted
  2. 7-8curry leaves
  3. 2 tspmustard seeds
  4. 2 tbspsmoked mustard oil
  5. 1 pcchopped onion
  6. 2 pcchopped carrots
  7. 1 pcchopped capsicum
  8. 3 cupswater (1 cup= 250 ml)
  9. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  10. 1 tspred chilli powder
  11. to tasteSalt
  12. 2 pcLemon juice of medium lemons
  13. Few sprigsChopped Cilantro for garnishing

Cooking Instructions

20 mins
  1. 1

Take a saucepan, firstly roast the 150 gms sooji or semolina you have taken. Roast it to a nice golden colour. And remember keep stirring it or it could get burnt at the bottom.

  2. 2

Once it's done, take semolina out in a plate or a bowl.

  3. 3

Add the smoked mustard oil in the saucepan. Put the mustard seeds and let them splutter.

  4. 4

Now add the chopped curry leaves.

  5. 5

Then add chopped onions, capsicum and carrots. I like them somehow raw not completely cooked. So I dont cover it. You can cover it for 10 mins so that all the veggies are cooked well.

  6. 6

Add salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder. Mix them well.

  7. 7

Now add the roasted sooji. And then put 3 cups of water. Keep stirring and let it come to a boil.

  8. 8

It will start thickening. You can add more water to adjust the consistency accordingly.

  9. 9

Once semolina leaves the pan. It means it's done. Add the lemon juice to it. Mix well.

  10. 10

Garnish it with chopped fresh cilantro and serve hot!!
