Walnut and Maple Butter Cookies

A while ago I received some delicious maple syrup and made cookies with it. This is another version of that recipe.

If you spend too long squeezing the dough out, the butter might separate from it, so work quickly.
The recipe uses maple syrup, so I don't use too much sugar. Recipe by jh2trz

Ingredients

30 servings
  1. 40 gramsButter
  2. 10 gramsSugar
  3. 60 gramsCake flour
  4. 1 tbspMilk
  5. 25 gramsMaple syrup
  6. 10 gramsWalnuts
  7. 5 gramsAlmond powder (optional)

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Bring the butter to room temperature and whisk until it has a cream-like consistency. Add the sugar and mix.

  2. 2

Add the maple syrup and mix well.

  3. 3

Add the almond powder and milk.

  4. 4

Break the walnuts up as finely as you can. If the pieces are too big, it will be difficult to squeeze out the dough later.

  5. 5

Add the walnuts and sifted flour and mix with a rubber spatula.

  6. 6

Squeeze portions of the dough onto a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for 15 minutes in an oven pre-heated to 180℃ (356 Fahrenheit).

  7. 7

These are the basic cookies on which this recipe is based. They are tasty even without the walnuts.
