Japanese Seaweed Salad with Sesame & Miso Dressing Japanese Seaweed Salad with Sesame & Miso Dressing
Japanese seaweed salad with sesame and miso dressing is a quick and very refreshing recipe which is perfect to eat during the hot summer weather. I will share with you two different ways to prepare this salad. One with Japanese mustard greens (mizuna); and one with cucumber, red leaf lettuce and tomato.35 years ago in Japan, I was introduced to the Japanese seaweed salad(Kaisou Sarada in Japanese) and fell in love with this dish. An authentic Japanese seaweed salad is not the same as those you get in the Japanese restaurant in the State. If you’ve ever had it, it actually tastes so much better.Video instruction: youtu.be/6XfgAMoe_Gs Julie - Mrs. Lin's Kitchen -

Wakame Seaweed, Onion and Tuna Salad with Mayonnaise Wakame Seaweed, Onion and Tuna Salad with Mayonnaise
The added mayo makes this an easy to eat salad for the kids.Make sure to squeeze out the moisture from the wakame seaweed and the onion at Step 1 in order to prevent the salad from getting watery. The sesame oil and sugar in the dressing make this salad easy to eat even for kids, who normally don't like raw onion. If you are serving this to adults only, add a little ra-yu spicy sesame oil or mustard. For 4 servings. Recipe by LaLaHappy1 cookpad.japan -
Nutrient-Rich Summer Salad with Veggies and Plenty of Wakame Seaweed Nutrient-Rich Summer Salad with Veggies and Plenty of Wakame Seaweed
In my garden, I harvested tons of cucumbers and tomatoes! Although I use them daily in salads and salt-cure them, I got bored of the same prep. Adding wakame seaweed makes this super tasty! A bit of ham also makes this even tastier.-I used Ninben's 3x concentrate mentsuyu.-This is also good with okra!-Adding perilla leaves and myoga ginger give this an adult taste!-Squeeze out excess water from the reconstituted wakame seaweed.-Blending right before serving gives the cucumbers a succulent bite. On the other hand, if you let it sit, the flavors will blend well (although it will become watery). Prepare it as you like! Recipe by moj cookpad.japan -
Salad Rolls My Way of Rolling and Cutting Salad Rolls My Way of Rolling and Cutting
I wanted to make a pretty sushi roll, and this is what I came with after trial and error. I always packed sushi rolls in bento when it was too much of a bother to make side dishes, but I was praised by my peers despite the lack of side dishes. They might have thought that sushi rolls are a hassle to make, so they probably went overboard with the praises... I don't think it is a waste of time to learn how to make sushi rolls.① Since the hot rice will soak up the sushi vinegar, please cook the rice so that it is a little hard. ② Ingredients that will dirty your hands should be placed towards the bottom so it is easier to roll. ③ You don't need to add white sesame seeds, but I like to smell the sesame as I bite into the rolls, so I always use it when I make sushi rolls. It might be a pain, but wipe the knife as you cut each roll. (In step 11). The end result will be completely different. Recipe by Karinkarin cookpad.japan -

Japanese Tomato Salad Japanese Tomato Salad
Awhile back, at a farm dinner, I tried this 'poke inspired' tomato salad. I definitely had one of those 'now, why didn't I think of that' moments. The texture and sweet, rich, umami of a good, ripe tomato makes a lot of sense as an analogue to raw ahi. I came up with my own version here https://cookpad.wasmer.app/us/recipes/956849-heirloom-tomato-pokeA couple of weeks later, I came across this recipe! https://cookpad.wasmer.app/us/recipes/915436-leek-and-tuna-salad-with-vinegar-and-miso-negi-to-magurono-nutaI thought, if the poke worked well, that this vinaigrette, originally intended for tuna, would also go well with tomatoes. It's been a popular dish in the office lately. Really easy to make, and a nice way to show off great tomatoes. Ryan Goodwin
