Baklava with dates

Ingredients

  1. 12 piecesfilo pastry
  2. 200 grwalnuts
  3. 200 grdates
  4. 200 grraisins
  5. 1/2Lemon
  6. 400 mlwater
  7. 1 kgsugar
  8. 100 mlsparkling water

    Chop the dates and the walnuts into small peaces. Mix all the fruits you have and divide into thirds.

    You need deep baking tray. Coat it with oil. Put one layer of the filo pastry sprinkle with oil, sparkling water and sugar. Cover with another layer and repeat the same thing until you have 3 layers.

    Spread ⅓ of fruit mixture all over the third layer. Put another 3 layers, then fruits, another 3 layers, fruits, last 3 layers.

    Bake it at 180° until it goes golden brown. Maybe 15 mins.

    When baklava is about to be done, put the rest of the sugar into a pot, cover it with 500ml water and let it boil for 5 mins. Add lemon juice.

    Take the baklava out of the oven, cut it into quarters or triangles and soak it in boiling water you prepared. Both must be hot! Let it rest for 2 hours and serve.
