I was craving lentils but didn't want to make them into a soup, so I decided to make them into delicious patties that we can also use as a “burger.” Tasty and healthy!

Ingredients

45 min.
15-17 pieces
  1. 1 cuplentils
  2. 2carrots
  3. 1 sprigcilantro
  4. 1 cupoats
  5. 1/2onion
  6. 2 clovesgarlic
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Cumin to taste

Cooking Instructions

45 min.
  1. 1

Cook the lentils. Add them to boiling water and reduce the heat to medium-low. Cover and let them cook. While they cook, grind the oats into a fine flour and set aside. (You can grind the oats in a blender; just make sure it's very fine).

  2. 2

Grate the carrot and finely chop the cilantro, place them in a bowl and mix. In a pan, add the finely chopped onion and garlic and cook until translucent, about 2 to 4 minutes, stirring constantly.

  3. 3

Once the lentils are cooked, drain and remove excess water. Mash them and gradually add the oat flour. Then add the carrot, cilantro, onion, and garlic that were set aside earlier.

  4. 4

Mix everything and start forming the patties. It's very important to wet your hands or coat them with a little olive oil for each patty, as the mixture is very sticky. Add them to the pan and cook for 4-6 minutes on each side. And that's it, you can serve them with rice, salad, mashed potatoes, or use them as a meat substitute for a burger. Enjoy!
