People know that curd rice is a dish in South Indian Cusine but in Gujarati Cusine also curd rice is an amazing dish know as "Ghess". Can be served with any pulses in gravy or can be eaten chilled also.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsRice
  2. 1 cupHomemade Curd
  3. 2 cupsHomemade Buttermilk
  4. 1 cupwater
  5. to tasteSalt
  6. For Tempering
  7. 2 tspoil
  8. 1 tspcumin seeds
  9. 2green chillies (sliced)
  10. 1Dry Red Chilli
  11. 4-5Sweet Neem leaves
  12. Pinchasafoetida

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Wash and soak the rice for 1/2 hr. After that Strain all water from the rice. Keep a side.

    Take cooker on full flame add water, salt get it boiled. Now add buttermilk and rice mix it well. Close the lid and get 3 whistle. Off the flame. Let cool down the cooker for 15 min.

    Open the lid mix the rice well. Add curd and mix it again. Add salt for curd. Keep it on low flame for 5 min.

    Take tempering pan add oil, cumin seeds, sliced green chillies, dry red chilli, sweet neem leaves, asafoetida, saute it and add to the boiling curd rice.

    Serve hot curd rice with yummy spicy pegion beans in gravy (in Gujarati it's called "Bakada"), Salad And Papad
