Healthy Rolls with Wheat and Barley Flour

I make these with love for my husband because he loves and follows a healthy diet. I got the idea to replace white flour in these rolls with barley and wheat flour, and it turned out to be a great idea. Their taste is irresistible, and they have become a breakfast staple for us. I highly recommend you try them; you won't regret it. Take care of your family with healthy options.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Mix well the milk, egg whites, yeast, sugar, black seed, and oil, then add the flour as shown in the pictures below.
- 2
Combine the dough with water or milk. I used 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of water. It doesn't need much kneading; the important thing is that the dough is soft and sticky. Let the dough rest and rise, then punch it down and shape it into balls. Note: You can use oil while shaping the balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper as shown in the pictures. You can choose to flatten them or leave them as they are. I preferred to flatten them.
- 3
Let the balls rise again, then brush them with egg yolk and top with oats, flaxseeds, or sesame seeds as you like. Place the sheet in a preheated oven until they are golden brown. Enjoy your meal!

Many steakhouses serve individual loafs of some variation of a dark bread. This is a honey wheat variation that's hearty, slightly sweet but soft and really full of flavor. Barley Flour Cookies Barley Flour Cookies
I originally made these cookies with kinako, but lately I have been making them with barley flour instead.Caution: The ingredients are adjusted to suit barley flour. Making these with kinako requires different amounts and processes, so be careful!Step 2: It's rather difficult to clump the dough together, so you can add a little bit more soy milk if you like. Don't add too much or it will probably become too tough. If you change the flours to 50 g barley flour and 50 g regular flour, it will really bring out the aroma of the barley flour, but the dough will be harder to work with. Either way is okay. Recipe by Soraten mama cookpad.japan -
Chocolate Coated Barley Puff Rolls Chocolate Coated Barley Puff Rolls
These days, bread-making ingredients are sold very expensively in shops. In our household, at least, sweets enjoyed on a day to day basis have to be gentle on the body as well as the wallet, and make the kids happy at the same time. This time, I didn't use just chocolate coated barley puffs, but also included strawberry coated barley puffs. You can just as well only use the chocolate version and be just fine. When you use the strawberry puffs instead, the pink color might pale a bit, but the taste will stay just fine. If you only use chocolate and only want to make one roll, that's fine too, but I would recommend splitting it into two batches after the second proofing stage, to make the work easier for you.
