Ingredients

  1. 1 cupGram Flour (Besan)
  2. 1Large Onion (Sliced)
  3. 1/2 cupCoriander Leaves (Finely Chopped)
  4. 4-5Green Chillies (Slited)
  5. 1/2 tspRed Chilli Powder
  6. 1/2 tspCumin Powder
  7. as requiredSalt
  8. 1/2 cupWater (or as required)
  9. pinchAsafoetida
  10. pinchBaking Soda
  11. as requiredOil for Frying

Cooking Instructions

    To make the batter, add besan in a mixing bowl. All all the ingredients except oil and water. Mix thoroughly. Add water slowly while mixing. The batter should be thin enough to spread properly and thick enough to be dropped by a spoon.

    Heat 1 tsp oil in a small cooking pan. Made one at a time. Take a ladle full of the batter and pour in the pan and gently spread it. Let it cook till golden on the underside. Flip and cook on the other side till it turns golden. Remove on kitchen towel to absorb the extra oil. Serve hot with coriander/mint chutney or any chutney/sauce of your choice.
