My Late Mother used to make Badam sharbat and as a kid it's my favorite drink of summers. As I was very young when my mother left this world and I don't have any written recipes of her so i met my mother's old friends and discussed with my Chachi (My mother in law) and rediscovered some of her amazing recipes. Ingredients

2 hrs
  • 500 gmsAlmonds
  • 1200 gmsSugar
  • 20 gmsCardemom
  • 2 literWater

Steps

2 hrs
  1. 1

    Soak Almonds in water over night.

  2. 2

    Soak the Cardemom overnight in 500 ml of water.

  3. 3

    Drain water from soaked Almonds and peel the Almonds. You can use Almonds unpeeled.

  4. 4

    Without draining water from soaked cardemom crush the by hand and put the in blender.

  5. 5

    Add Almonds in blender and add sufficient water and blend well.

  6. 6

    Take a cheese cloth and extract Almond milk from blended mixture.

  7. 7

    Put back Almond mixture from cheese cloth to blender, add more water and extract more Almond milk. Repeat this third time if necessary.

  8. 8

    Put sugar in pot and add only one cup water.

  9. 9

    Dissolve the sugar over low heat.

  10. 10

    Add Almond milk to dissolved sugar and stir time to time over medium heat.

  11. 11

    Cook the untill thick syrup forms.

  12. 12

    Cool down the syrup and preserve in sterilized glass or plastic bottles. Syrup can be preserved for two months in refrigerator.

  13. 13

    Add appropriate amount of syrup to water or milk, add ice cubes and stir.

  14. 14

    Enjoy your cool summer drink.
