Ingredients

20 mins
1 jar
  • 250 gmslemon
  • 1 tspspoon salt
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tbspjaggery
  • 1 tsproasted cumin powder
  • 2-3 tsp fennel seeds powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and dry lemons on a kitchen towel.

  2. 2

    Cut them into small pieces.

    Blend them on pulse mode so that their peels are broken (this step is necessary so that peels do not taste bitter later).

    Add salt to this paste and leave it for 3-4 hrs so that it releases liquid.

  5. 5

    Heat up pan Add this paste along with all liquid, jaggery, fennel powder, chilli powder and cook on low flame for 10-15 mins.

    When cool add garam masala and store it in a dry airtight jar It can be eaten for long time

    Spicy lonji is a side dish to enhance the taste of thali.
