Ingredients

6 servings
  • 5medium tomatoes (I prefer home grown or vine ripened)
  • 2jalapeños (de-seeded)
  • 1/2 cupsweet onion
  • 1/2 cuploosely packed cilantro
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • 2 tspminced garlic
  • 1 tspsalt (I use sea salt)
  • 1/4 tspfresh ground black pepper
  • Dashcumin
  • Dashchili powder

Steps

5 minutes
  1. 1

    Roughly chop the tomatoes, onion, cilantro. Just to make it blend easier. Big chunks are fine.

  2. 2

    Put everything in the blender. Pulse repeatedly for desired consistency, but don’t purée. You want some texture.

  3. 3

    Refrigerate at least an hour to cool it and let the flavors sink in.

  4. 4

    Enjoy with tortilla chips!
