Healthy Natto Okonomiyaki

I wanted to eat okonomiyaki since I haven't eaten it in a while. But there are so many calories...in a typical okonomiyaki. I made these okonomiyaki as I would a healthy omelet, and this is the result. I mixed in my beloved natto too!
It is important to mix the egg into the batter well, and to pour beaten egg over the top before cooking.
You can crumble the pancake when you turn it over, if you prefer.
Or, shape your pancakes into different shapes, or perfect circles.
The okonomiyaki are also great if topped with spicy chilli oil (ra-yu). Recipe by Sutekinigohanchan

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Julienne the cabbage. Break 2 eggs into a bowl and add the milk. Combine together.
- 2
Add the cabbage, natto, and dashi stock to the bowl and mix thoroughly.
- 3
Place the other egg into a small bowl and beat.
- 4
Heat oil in a pan. Pour in the batter from step 2. Flatten the mixture into a pancake.
- 5
Pour the egg from step 3 on top of the cabbage pancake. Cover the pan with a lid and cook until the edges turn brown. Turn the pancake over and cook.
- 6
Serve the cooked pancake onto a plate and garnish with mayonnaise and bonito flakes.

Note: You can also make several small pancakes and garnish with a variety of flavours. I recommend this.

Try topping it with ketchup and cheese, and sprinkle on some black pepper. So good!! Tabasco sauce is also great too!!

Really Simple! Quick and Easy Natto Okonomiyaki Really Simple! Quick and Easy Natto Okonomiyaki
My family loves natto and goes through it like there's no tomorrow... Occasionally, a package of forgotten natto makes an appearance from the back of the fridge, This is what I always make during times like these. The water content from the roughly chopped cabbage will help shape the mixture, so mix after adding all of it to the bowl. If it is still too thick after flipping it over and pressing down on it a bit with a spatula, cover it with a lid, and steam-cook it for a bit. For 1 person. Recipe by korobei cookpad.japan -

Onion Okonomiyaki Onion Okonomiyaki
An okonomiyaki fan taught me this recipe. If you use onions, Awaji Island or Hokkaido onions are great. Crispy and sweetly spicy okonomiyaki sauce is also a good match. Great while drinking a beer or Highball.- The amount of water differs from the instructions on the okonomiyaki flour package, but the onions will release water, so there's enough!- You can add a second egg to the batter if you wish. I bought a new frying pan, and I decided to make okonomiyaki to test if it was really non-stick.You can use pork belly, pork offcuts or whatever cut of pork you like. The batter should be thick, rather than watery, so that it falls thickly from a spoon. Recipe by Kashokushou cookpad.japan -
Tofu and Natto Chewy Okonomiyaki Tofu and Natto Chewy Okonomiyaki
This is my "Okonomiyaki with a Twist" recipe that uses only a single frying pan to make the most of regular ingredients. Let the okonomiyaki flour do its job for a fluffy and umami-rich batter! It's even egg-free - the batter is so chewy thanks to tofu, and it feels really different from regular okonomiyaki. What an inspiring dish!I've listed only the minimum amount of water because silken tofu is added to the batter. If the batter is too difficult to mix, add a small amount of water. Also serve with mayonnaise. For 2 servings. Recipe by Nisshin foods cookpad.japan -
Ultra-Healthy No-Flour Okonomiyaki Ultra-Healthy No-Flour Okonomiyaki
I always used firm tofu and nagaimo yam in my okonomiyaki, so I tried omitting the flour from the batter when I was on a diet. The batter is very soft, so it's a bit difficult to flip over. Make the pancakes about the size of your spatula or they will fall apart. Make a lot of little pancakes.Pancakes with kimchi and natto in them are especially loose, so make them in lots of 2 or 3 that fit into a frying pan at at time. For 8 to 10 pancakes. I wanted to make one more dish for dinner using cabbage since I shredded up too much of it. My children loved this dish even though it was so easy. It's also great to include the stem of the napa cabbage. Adjust the cooking time to your liking! If you like the eggs to be soft-set, make sure to shorten the cooking time! *I updated the recipe so that it's even easier to cook. For 4 servings. Recipe by Yukirinrin cookpad.japan -
Standard Okonomiyaki Standard Okonomiyaki
After experimenting, I recreated the okonomiyaki we can enjoy at an okonomiyaki restaurant at home.At Step 3, you just need to mix it so it comes togheter. The batter will be nice and light and airy. At Step 4, after pouring the batter in the pan, you can sprinkle more tempura crumbs on top for flavor. But if you're watching your calorie intake, you may want to hold back on them. For 3 servings.
