This is a simple yet very inviting pasta dish. The idea came from the 2021 Calendar project, which inspired me to get to know the recipes we suggested even better. This is my January inspiration, to which I’ve of course added a few personal touches.

While you bring a pot of water to a boil for the pasta, heat a drizzle of olive oil in a skillet. Add the chopped half onion and sauté for a few minutes. Add the ground pork with a pinch of salt and pepper (if using sausage, you can skip the salt and pepper). Once cooked, add the broccoli cream.

Cook and drain the orecchiette, reserving some of the cooking water. Add the pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss everything together over low heat, gradually adding the reserved cooking water until the pasta becomes creamy.
