Ingredients

30 minutes
Serves 6 servings
  • 1 poundyellow lentils
  • 1medium onion, diced
  • 2potatoes, diced
  • 1tomato, diced
  • 1carrot, diced
  • 2green onions, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespooncumin
  • Water to cover the ingredients
  • For frying the onion
  • 1large onion, minced
  • 1 tablespoonghee or butter

Steps

30 minutes

    Wash the ingredients and rinse the lentils well. Place them in a pot on the stove and cover with water. Cook for 30 minutes, adding salt, pepper, and cumin.

    Turn off the heat and let it cool slightly, then blend it in a blender. Return it to the stove, fry the onion in ghee or butter until golden, then add it to the lentils. Adjust the thickness of the soup to your liking by adding more water if you prefer it thinner. Enjoy!
