Easy pears in red wine

Cooking for one can get tedious. Today I looked at 2 pears in the fruit bowl and remembered how we used to enjoy pears in red wine. To treat myself I simplified what I remembered.

Cooking for one can get tedious. Today I looked at 2 pears in the fruit bowl and remembered how we used to enjoy pears in red wine. To treat myself I simplified what I remembered.
Steps
- 1
Peel the pears leaving the stalk for easy handling
- 2
Put a spoon of sugar, spices and generous glass of red wine in small saucepan and stir to dissolve sugar.
- 3
Place pears on side into pan.
- 4
Put lid on and heat to simmer. After 15mins turn the pears so that all each fruit has time in the wine and spices
- 5
When fruit is soft take off heat. Lift pears carefully and place in a bowl, pour the liquid over the pears.
- 6
One for this evening with cream and one into fridge for tomorrow. 2treats!
- 7
Of course you can upgrade for as many eaters as you wish.
