Ingredients

5 servings
  • 500 gbasmati rice (or use any rice of your choice)
  • 2 1/2 cupwater
  • 500 gmutton
  • 1onion (big)
  • 2tomato
  • As neededHandfull of Pudhina
  • as requiredCoriander leaves
  • 1 tbspginger garlic paste
  • 4green chillies (change the numbers as per your taste)
  • as requiredOil and ghee
  • 1bay leaf
  • 3elachi
  • 1small cinnamon stick
  • as neededTurmeric powder
  • As neededChilli powder
  • Ingredients to prepare Biryani powder
  • 1cinnamon stick
  • 2 tbspcoriander seeds
  • 1/2 tbspfennel seeds
  • 1 tbspjerra seeds
  • 1/2 tbsppepper corns
  • 3cloves
  • 1star anise
  • 1bay leaf

Steps

    Soak the basmati rice in water and keep it aside for 30 mins

  2. 2

    To prepare the Biryani powder,grind the mentioned ingredients into a fine powder

  3. 3

    Heat the pan and add 1 spoon ghee and oil.

  4. 4

    Add 1 bay leaf,3 elachi, 3 cloves,1 small cinnamon stick.

  5. 5

    Then add the sliced onions and fry until it turns golden brown.Also add salt to it.

  6. 6

    Then add the green chillies,ginger garlic paste and tomatoes and fry till it becomes a paste.

  7. 7

    Now add the Biryani power and 1 tspn turmeric powder,1 tspn chilli powder

  8. 8

    After a minute add handfull of pudhina and handfull of coriander leaves and fry.

  9. 9

    Then add mutton and stir it.Add 1 cup of water.close the lid of the cooker and boil it for 3 whistles.

  10. 10

    After pressure goes off,add the rice and then add 1 1/2 cup water.Check the salt and spiciness.

  11. 11

    Cook it for 1 whistle.Tasty Biryani is ready.
