Kua'aina-Style Avocado & Tuna Toasted Sandwiches

I love Kua'aina's avocado sandwich so much so I decided to make my own version.
After looking up the recipe I found that the real thing uses less seasoning than I do.
I like stronger flavors so I added mayo to the ketchup and that's what makes it so delicious.
Toast the bread before you use it to get that yummy toasted sandwich texture! The combination of ketchup and mayonnaise is the key to this recipe. Recipe by Marumochan

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the fillings. Cut the avocado in half and scoop out the flesh with a spoon before mashing. Drain the oil from the tuna can.
- 2
Toast the bread until golden or browned (however you like it.) If you don't have much time you can toast just the one side.
- 3
Once toasted, put half the avocado and half the tuna on one sandwich, then add some ketchup, mayo and black pepper in that order. Finally, sandwich with another slice of toasted bread.
- 4
Cut the sandwich in half with a knife and it's ready to eat!!

Tuna Salad Avocado Sandwiches Tuna Salad Avocado Sandwiches
This sandwich was so good. The pesto combined with the tuna balanced well. The avocado and English peas added to the flavour profile. I think I used the right amount of each ingredient as not to overwhelm anyone thing making it a one note flavour.I had plenty leftover for more sandwiches at least 6 sandwiches in total. Just add bread. skunkmonkey101 -
Delicious & Fresh Tuna Sandwiches Delicious & Fresh Tuna Sandwiches
I love this version of tuna salad sandwiches! I always incorporate fresh chopped vegetables to add both taste and crunch. Curry powder and a sprinkle of cayenne pepper make it taste amazing but are optional. I don't like a lot of mayo but feel free to adjust the amount of mayo to your liking. I recommend multigrain or chia bread, but use whatever bread you prefer. Sometimes I add chopped apples to the sandwich, try it if you dig a bit of sweetness with savory foods! Mindy -

Healthy Avocado & Hijiki Seaweed Sandwich Healthy Avocado & Hijiki Seaweed Sandwich
When I tried Shimaru's "Avocado & Hijiki Western-style White Dressing"together with some bread, I had a brainwave and thought that these ingredients could go well together. After much trial and error, I came up with this recipe. The more vegetables you put in, the more you should season your hijiki with salt so that their flavour doesn't get lost. I combined the richness of miso with black sesame paste, hijiki, a sweetening agent (for a macrobiotic version you would use brown-rice starch syrup, but I used maple syrup this time) and avocado. For 1 sandwich. Recipe by Chakotoyuuna cookpad.japan -

Avocado and Kippers Salad Sandwich Avocado and Kippers Salad Sandwich
This was something I created (to the best of my knowledge). I've been modifying it and trying different things, until I hit on this. The very slight smokyness of the kippers, the avocado, a little onion (red, sweet, green or chives all work) all work together. You can add some spice, but it can overpower this one. If your avocado is little over ripe, it's still ok. Fo Fa -

This is the sandwich my mother used to make when she worked at a kissaten. It's a comforting taste that I've loved since I was a child. For a grown-up taste, try using karashi-mayonnaise (mayonnaise mixed with Japanese mustard) instead of regular mayonnaise. Recipe by Nanaiku cookpad.japan -
Extravagant Caprese, Shrimp, and Avocado Sandwich Extravagant Caprese, Shrimp, and Avocado Sandwich
I wanted to turn my favorite caprese into an easy sandwich... and, to make it richer I added shrimp in cocktail sauce, and my husband loved it. Ever since, this has been making a regular appearance at weekend brunches. This sandwich is stuffed with lots of ingredients, so put the fillings towards the center of the bread so that it won't spill out while eating. When you make the sandwich, the filling will naturally spread out a bit. For 2 servings. Recipe by Usagi no Cima cookpad.japan -
English Muffin Avocado Sandwich English Muffin Avocado Sandwich
I'm not so keen on avocado on toast, but I really wanted to eat avocado and bread. I made it with various kinds of bread, and the English muffin version was by far the best! My younger brother's wife is from Peru, and she said that Peruvians would love this too!The key is to add black pepper and garlic powder. They make all the difference!!!!It's tasty enough with lemon juice and black pepper, but if you don't butter the bread, it's a lot tastier with a little mayonnaise.I recommend you eat this on English muffins.
