Prepare the spice mix in a bowl.

Rub the meat with the prepared mix.

Peel and slice the onion and place it at the bottom of the pot.

Place the meat on top and pour in the ginger ale.

Cover and set the slow cooker to high for 6 hours.

It should be enjoyed in a sandwich with BBQ sauce. If, like me, you use the meat as a main dish, blend the sauce with an immersion blender and season the meat.
