Heat Pan and add urad dal, fry till golden brown. Wash the rice and soak for 10 mins.

In a cooker add fried urad dal, washed rice, scraped coconut, dried ginger powder, garlic cloves and water. Add salt to salt.

Close the lid. Allow 3 whistles in a medium low flame.

After 20 minutes open the lid and serve hot.
