So I made the soup using the available ingredients I can get in my kitchen.
Am not an Igbo girl, so there will be an alteration in the ingredients, my aim is to allow other tribe try out the soup without getting limited due to an absent of a recipe....do try this out

I made my soup using only beef and cray fish. You can add goat meat, cat fish etc
The optional in the bracket means it's not a most, u can just cook your white soup using only dry fish or only meat or only kpomo....depending on what you have..... - 2
In a pot, put in your washed meat, cray fish,seasonings, grated pepper, onions and yam
Am boiling my yam with my ingredients to save time and you won't need to use 2 separate pots - 3
Cook until the yams are soft
Then remove the yams
You can either pound it using mortar or you blend it
I pounded mine using mortar - 4
When your meat is soft, add in the pounded yam or blended yam and allow it to cook
You can also use cooking broom to scatter the yams - 5
When the soup has thicken, you add in your chopped ugu leaf....mind you the igbos use utazi leaf

Allow it to boil then serve with swallow of your choice
I ate mine with wheat swallow
