Sweet 'n Spicy Sauce--Simply Simmered Sea Bream Sweet 'n Spicy Sauce--Simply Simmered Sea Bream
This simmered sea bream dish is a common meal in our home. Ever since my child was 2 years old, I've been mixing simmered sea bream in rice, and it's been a big hit.I recommend using red snapper because, as you know, it's easy to find and plenty delicious. Once you start cooking the sea bream, leave it alone! To get the glaze to shine, boil well until nice and hot in Step 6. Recipe by Chisora cookpad.japan -
Salmon bellies braised in sweet soy and ginger Salmon bellies braised in sweet soy and ginger
The high fat content in salmon belly makes it perfect for braising. If you can't get your hands on salmon belly, use a centre cut fillet and just trim the back so it's not too much thicker than the belly. And be sure to take it off the heat the second the fish is cooked through. Robert Gonzal -

Sweet and Salty Simmered Beef and Burdock Root Sweet and Salty Simmered Beef and Burdock Root
I think every household has their own way to make 'Stir Fried and Simmered Beef and Burdock Root', but this is my method. If you stir fry the burdock root in the same frying pan you stir fried the beef in, the burdock root will not be properly coated by oil. Even if it's a bother, stir fry it in a separate pan for better, richer flavor. If you do stir fry the beef and burdock root together the flavor will be lighter. Please use whichever method you prefer. The meat stays tender even if you reheat this in the microwave. For 4 servings. Recipe by Asamato cookpad.japan -
Mackerel Simmered in Sweet Miso Mackerel Simmered in Sweet Miso
Follow these three tips and you'll have a scrumptious dish that'll be loved by all.Tip 1. Pour hot water on the fish. It's an extra step, but it helps remove the odor and drains it.Tip 2. Add the fish once the sauce has come to a boil.Tip 3. Simmer in a short time. It avoids the filet from flaking and also prevents from becoming hard.I sliced one mackerel into 2, and cut them half. For 4 servings. Recipe by sachie mama cookpad.japan -
Easy Salty Sweet Simmered Beef Easy Salty Sweet Simmered Beef
Since I was young, my mother made this for my bento using meat and shishito peppers. When I tried making it with green peppers and potatoes, it was just as delicious! It's cooked thoroughly and is preserved in soy sauce, so it lasts and is also great for bentos.Using shishito peppers instead of green peppers is tasty, too! If you use shishito peppers, fry thoroughly beforehand to get rid of the bitter flavor! Please stir-fry the meat and shishito peppers with plenty of sauce. It's more delicious with Japanese beef, but if you use imported beef, use Japanese beef fat by cutting it into small chunks (which you can get at a butcher) and stir fry. The taste becomes milder. For 2-3 servings. Recipe by asaco* cookpad.japan -

Salmon Simmered in Sweet Miso Sauce from Hokkaido Salmon Simmered in Sweet Miso Sauce from Hokkaido
This dish really represents Hokkaido! Every Hokkaido native has grown up with this dish. It's warming and filling regional favorite. You can make this in a pan or in an electrical griddle. Just use the same procedure and reduce the amount if needed, you don't have a lot of washing up afterwards, and it's so easy. For the version in the photos, I used a small tabletop pot.If you use an electric griddle, more moisture will evaporate so it will be like a stir-fry. For 4 to 5 servings with a generous amount of miso sauce. Recipe by Mirunesan cookpad.japan -
