I've been making sweet potato and carrot kinpira for some time, but when I tried adding celery it was very pretty.

Ingredients

  • 200 gramsJapanese sweet potato (Naruto Kintoki variety)
  • 1 stalkCelery
  • 1/2Carrot
  • 10 gramsButter
  • 2 tbspSake
  • 1/4 tspSalt
  • 1/2 tspSoy sauce
  • 1Toasted white sesame seeds

Steps

  1. 1

    Cut the ends of the sweet potato and cut into matchsticks. Soak in a bowl of water.

    Cut the celery and carrot into matchsticks too.

    Melt the butter in a frying pan. Add the well drained sweet potato and stir fry.

    When the butter is well distributed, add the celery and carrot and stir fry quickly. Sprinkle in the sake and cover with a lid.

    Take the lid off after 2 to 3 minutes. Add salt and stir fry. Drizzle in the soy sauce on the hot surface of the pan, mix in and turn off the heat.

    Transfer to a serving plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds. (I also sprinkled on some celery leaves.)
