Ingredients

1hr. per 4.5 lb
1 lb per person
  1. 12-22 lbTurkey
  2. (1/2 Cup) 1 Cube Butter
  3. 1 CupWater
  4. Lemon Pepper
  5. Salt

Cooking Instructions

1hr. per 4.5 lb
  1. 1

IF Frozen, thaw turkey 24 hrs per every 10 lbs of turkey or you can thaw turkey in wrapper in cold water 30minutes per lb. changing water every hour.

  2. 2

I prefer Butterball brand or Norbest turkeys for their larger breasts.

  3. 3

Pour 1 cup of water into roaster and preheat oven or roaster to 325 degrees.

  4. 4

    Stuff turkey cavity with dressing.

  5. 5

Place turkey in roaster and baste with melted butter. Then season generously with lemon pepper and sparingly with salt.

  6. 6

Be sure to allow 2.5 hours of bake time for each 10 lbs of turkey. SO, a 22 lb. turkey will take approximately 5 hours to roast.

  7. 7

Check for doneness with meat thermometer. 170° for the breast and 180° for the thigh.

  8. 8

When turkey is done, use the cooked juices from the roaster to make turkey gravy.

Yummy. I don't like turkey that much except for the dark meat but I love the fixings that goes with it. Dressing, aspic, potatoes, green beans . All that yummy goodness.
