I love how the salt holds in the juices n moisture of the turkey. Plus i use the gibblets n neck to make a homemade stock/gravy to go wit the turkey, just an idea to try.

I love how the salt holds in the juices n moisture of the turkey. Plus i use the gibblets n neck to make a homemade stock/gravy to go wit the turkey, just an idea to try.
Steps

Preheat oven to 325°F Fahrenheit.

Open turkey n take out the neck n gibblet bag (set aside or throw away ). Rince off turkey inside and out. With paper towels blot turkey dry n set turkey aside.

In a mixing bowl; combine the salt, pepper, oregano, n garlic powder. Sprinkle all over the outside n inside of the turkey. Coat the outside of the turkey well.

Put into the preheated oven, uncovered, for 4 1/2 hrs. Until golden brown n a meat thermometer reaches 180°F.

Take turkey out of oven n let sit, covered with aluminum foil, for 15-25 minutes to let juices absorb back into the meat. Then u uncover n serve. Enjoy.
