*Doll Festival Dinner* Sushi Cake

This is a great way to celebrate the annual Doll Festival. Normal chirashi sushi is boring, so I turned it into a cake.
You can use anything you want for the toppings and fillings!
Since you can arrange it in so many different ways, the fun possibilities are endless.
Your children will be thrilled and it's perfect for any occasion. Recipe by Chef Kei

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Line a cake pan with plastic wrap and fill up to about 1 cm with sushi rice.
- 2
Cut the salmon into small pieces and lay on top of the sushi rice.
- 3
Cover the salmon with another centimeter of packed in sushi rice. Top that with boiled shrimp cut in half, along with some shrimp cut into any sizes.
- 4
Pack in the rest of the sushi rice on top of that and push down from the top. Let it chill a bit in the refrigerator.
- 5
Remove the sushi from the cake and decorate with your toppings. This time I used a finely shredded thin omelet (to make it really yellow, I used 1 whole egg + 1 egg yolk), a rose made from salmon, cucumber cut into decorative shapes, and the rest of the shrimp.
- 6
I used smoked salmon to make the rose. The first layer is filled with sakura denbu, the second layer has avocado.

Doll Festival Sushi Cake Doll Festival Sushi Cake
My friend taught me about sushi cake, and I figured I could easily make it myself, so I made one for the Doll Festival! Not only is it cute, but also delicious! Why not try making this with your kids?!Press down on the rice relatively tightly when spreading it into the mold. You don't have to add in denbu if you prefer not to. You can leave the bottom of the pan as-is when removing the mold. It might be easier to cut that way. The cake was 16 cm. Recipe by Torodesu cookpad.japan -

Doll Sushi Cake For Parties and Celebrations Doll Sushi Cake For Parties and Celebrations
Overseas, there are doll-shaped cakes for children's birthday parties, so I took that idea and made a sushi cake. Adults liked it, too--not just the kids.Keep everything clean and hygienic. To make sure that the food does not get on the doll's clothes and so on, wrap her lower body from the waist down in plastic wrap.Use a bowl for the skirt that matches the length of Licca-chan's lower body from the waist down. If the bowl is too shallow, the waist of the skirt won't come up to her waist. If the bowl is too shallow, make a bed of white sushi rice and create a hole in the middle to boost up the base.
