Macaroni with Tomato Sauce, Onion, Bacon, Ground Beef, and Chorizo
I've always loved this dish, but ever since I tried my mother-in-law's version... I'm hooked!
Steps
- 1
Heat a skillet with a little olive oil. While it heats, chop the onion.
- 2
Add the onion to the skillet and cook until soft, about 10 minutes. Add the ground beef. While it cooks (about 10 minutes), slice and chop the chorizo.
- 3
Add the bacon and cook until browned, about 5 minutes, then add the chorizo. Cook for another 10 minutes, then add the crushed tomatoes, salt, a little paprika, and the teaspoon of sugar to cut the acidity of the tomatoes.
- 4
Let the sauce cook over medium heat for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, boil the macaroni according to package instructions. Once cooked, rinse the pasta under cold water to prevent sticking.
- 5
After the sauce has cooked for 30 minutes, turn off the heat and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
- 6
Add the pasta to the sauce, stir well, let it rest for another 10 minutes, and it's ready to serve! Enjoy!
