Chilli Chicken

Chilli Chicken is a popular Indo-Chinese dish of Hakka Chinese heritage chicken. In India, this may include a variety of dry chicken preparations. Although boneless chicken is mainly used in this dish, some people also use bone-in chicken.

Steps

Marinate the chicken pieces with salt, black pepper and keep aside for 30 minutes

Dip the marinate chicken pieces into the egg and then coat in the corn flour on the plate.

Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the chicken pieces on both side. Fry until the chicken is cooked through. Then drain on absorbent paper.

Similarly shallow fry Capsicum for couple of minutes. Then drain it on absorbent paper and keep aside.

In the same pan, heat 2 tbsp oil. Add the onion, garlic, red chillies, soy sauce, tomato purée, and water. Keep on stirring occasionally. Simmer till the mixture is reduces and thick syrupy.

Now add fried chicken, capsicum and stir well in the sauce. Garnish with chopped green parts of the spring onions (green). Switch off the gas.
Serve with rice or noodles.
