Som Tam is a green papaya salad which is very much popular in Thailand. It is prepared with shredded papaya, carrots, tomatoes and green beans. The dressing has chillies, garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, tamarind and lime juice which makes it really spicy, tangy and sweet at the same time. Roasted peanuts are added to it which provides it a lovely crunch and texture. It is a very delicious salad usually served as a side dish but you can even have it as a light meal.
