Steps

First clean and wash all greens, add in pressure cooker along with Cup of water, roughly chopped onion, garlic and green chillies. Cover with lid and cook for 2 to 3 whistles.

Let it cool a bit then blend to a coarse paste.

Now in a pan/vessel heat mustard oil, add cumin seeds and asafoetida, then add crushed garlic and stir till nice golden.

Now add finely chopped tomatoes,salt and Cook covered until tomatoes gets soft. Add red chilli powder and stir well.

Now add blended greens, also add tbsp of corn meal and saute well.cook for 8-10 mins on low to medium heat.

For tempering - in a tempering pan heat ghee,add dried red chilli and pour into the saag. Switch off the flame and serve with makki ki roti.
