Wash dal, soak in water overnight. Strain it, keep aside.

Take a pressure cooker, add dal, hing, haldi powder, salt.

Now add matar, gajar & tomato, add in 3 cup water & ghee, place the lid, give 6 whistles on high flame, lower the flame, cook it for 7 minutes.

Turn off the flame, allow it to depressurise naturally.

Open the lid, whisk dal for a minute. Add lil water (boiled) if thick. Mix it well.

Take a wok or pan, add ghee, heat it.

Add in tejpatta, saute it for a sec. In goes hing & zeera, let it splutter.

Now add dry red chilli, ginger & garlic, saute it until light brown.

Add in onion, stir fry it until light brown.

Mix dahi, coconut milk & red chilli powder, add in the masala. Mix it well. Add salt now.

Lower the flame, cover it with the lid, cook it until oil has oozed out.

Open the lid, add garam masala powder, give a stir.

Increase the flame, transfer dal into the masala, mix it well.

Give a boil, lower the flame, cook dal for 5 minutes.

Turn off the flame, take out in a serving bowl. Garnish it with chopped dhania patta.

The consistency of dal must be thick. Can be served along with Roti..
