Oreo Churros

At my house, it's a tradition to have churros for breakfast on Three Kings' Day. If you share this tradition and want to try something new by making homemade churros this year, here's a pretty original idea! (If you want to make more traditional homemade churros, check out my earlier post for that recipe!)

At my house, it's a tradition to have churros for breakfast on Three Kings' Day. If you share this tradition and want to try something new by making homemade churros this year, here's a pretty original idea! (If you want to make more traditional homemade churros, check out my earlier post for that recipe!)
Steps
- 1
Separate the cream filling from the Oreo cookies.
- 2
Crush the cookies until they have a sandy texture, then mix with the sifted flour and salt.
- 3
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the water and butter. When it starts to boil, add the dry ingredient mixture and stir constantly. Once combined, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated. Turn off the heat and let the dough rest for 5-10 minutes.
- 4
Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe churros onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25 minutes at 430°F (220°C), roll them in sugar, and they're ready to enjoy!
