French toast, with caramelsauce, baked apple and nuts

Ingredients

  1. French toast
  2. 150 mlmilk
  3. 2eggs
  4. 4 sliceswhite bread
  5. 2 tspcinnamon
  6. 3 tbspsugar
  7. 1 tspvanilla extract
  8. 4 tbspbutter
  9. Caramelsauce
  10. 100 gramsbutter
  11. 150 gramslight brown castersugar
  12. 50 mlcream
  13. Baked apples
  14. 2apples
  15. 1 tspcinnamon
  16. 1 tbspsugar
  17. 1 handfulnuts

Cooking Instructions

    Start with making the caramel:
    Melt the butter in a pan. When everything is melting, add the sugar. Stir the mixture until all the sugar is dissolved. Add the cream, keep stirring until everything is smooth. When the mixture starts to cook, let it cook for about five minutes.

    In the mean time, it’s time to peel the apples and cut them into bitesized pieces.

    Also, prepare the batter for the french toast. Mix the milk, eggs, cinnamon, sugar and vanilla together in a large bowl.

    When your caramel has cooked, transfer the sauce into an other bowl. Now, add your cut apples into the caramel pan, without washing. Also add the cinnamon and sugar. Let this simmer on low heat, while you’re baking the french toast, or until soft. Stir every now and then.

    Time to make the toast. Add a slice of bread into your mixture, and soak everything well. Heat a table spoon of butter in a cooking pan, and add your soaked bread. Bake on both sides, until golden brown. Repeat with the other slices of bread.

    Put the baked French toast on a plate. Top with the soft, warm apples. Drizzle with the caramelsauce.
    Chop some nuts, and sprinkle them on top. Enjoy!
