Ingredients

30 minutes
4 people
  1. 1 cupfresh pigeon peas (tuver dana)
  2. 1 cupbroad beans seeds (valor dana)
  3. 1 cupgreen peas (matar)
  4. 1 cupgreen gram (hara chana)
  5. 2 tbspoil
  6. 1 tspcumin seeds
  7. Pinchasafoetolida
  8. For muthiya:
  9. 2 cupwheat coarse flour
  10. 2 tbspgram flour
  11. 1 cupfinely chopped fenugreek leaves
  12. 2 tbspoil
  13. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  14. 1 tspred chilli powder
  15. 1 tspcumin-coriander powder
  16. 1 tspsugar
  17. 1 tsplemon juice
  18. 1/4 tspcooking soda
  19. to tasteSalt
  20. as required Oil for frying muthiya
  21. Grind into paste:
  22. 200 gramscoriander
  23. 3-4green chillies
  24. 8-9garlic cloves
  25. 1lemon

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Wash all four seeds, add a little salt and pressure cook them for 3 whistles. Carefully release steam manually and open the lid of cooker immediately.

    Prepare the green paste by adding all ingredients and lemon juice.

    Heat oil, add cumin seeds, once they splutter, add asafoetida and green paste and sauté for 2-3 minutes.

    Further add pressure cooked seeds, salt and turmeric.

    Add about 1 to 1.5cup of water and cook it for 5-7minutes on low flame.

    Lastly add fried dumplings and turn off the the heat. Serve immediately.

    For fenugreek dumplings: mix all ingredients of dumplings and knead medium hard dough. With a greased palm, prepare small, oblong dumplings and deep fry them.
    Add muthiyas at the time of serving only else they become soft and soggy.
