Steps

Soak both lentils for few hours.

Chop the tomatoes.

Blend together coriander,mint and green chillies into a smooth paste.

Cook lentils with salt and turmeric till tender,moisture evaporates and masala is dry.

Heat oil in a pan.

Add in cumin and let it crackle.

Add in ginger garlic and bhoono well

Add in tomatoes and cook till tomatoes are tender and mashed.

Add in salt,chilli powder, garam masala and blended mixture.

Bhoono it well.

When oil floats on top,add in daal and water.

Cook for 10 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan.

Fry garlic till light golden.

Pour this tarka over daal.

Serve with rice or roti.
